Dynamic Instantiation

Feb 25, 2010 at 6:08 AM

I am working in a windows forms application and have the need to continually and dynamically create the parts that I import.  I see from the documentation that I should be using the ExportCreator.  However this seems to only apply to silver light.  Is there a supported way to get a class factory outside of silver light?

I'm assuming you are talking about PartCreator which has now been renamed to ExportFactory. To answer your question it is only supported in SL right now, the .Net version of MEF doesn't currently have support for it because it was too late in the product cycle to add it. We will likely add it in the next version of the .Net framework, but for now we do have a sample project in the download called DynamicInstantiation which you can use to get support for it on .Net (although I think that sample may still use the name PartCreator).
